Bridgeport Child Development Center
Bridgeport Child Development Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and serves children ages 2-5. Our after-school program serves children in Kindergarten through age 10. We also provide summer camp for children already enrolled in our school age program. Our center has been providing the community with high-quality early education and child care for more than 30 years. We cater to the individual needs of each child in our care, including children with special needs, and provide an environment that will enhance growth and development during these important years.
Our facility is licensed by the City of Chicago and the State of Illinois. The program is staffed by dedicated child care professionals who believe in building positive healthy relationships with children and families. Nutritious meals are prepared daily in our on-site kitchen.
We utilize the Creative Curriculum in our program through which teachers design an environment that includes learning centers such as Blocks, Dramatic Play, Art, Library, Math and Science, Sand and Water, Music and Movement, Cooking, Literacy and Computers. Through active involvement with the environment, children learn to understand the world around them, to make choices and to learn through hands on activities. Daily outdoor play is provided in our two on-site play areas as well as through nature walks and walking trips to the local parks.
Through our partnerships with Head Start and State Pre-Kindergarten, our programs are designed to meet the needs of the whole child including health, nutrition and social-emotional needs while providing important school-readiness skills. Regular field trips are provided throughout the year to enhance the children's learning. Family involvement is encouraged through home visits, regular parent-teacher conferences, monthly parent meetings, parent workshops and family outings.
