Edgewater Early Learning Center
Located in Edgewater/Andersonville neighborhood, our child care center offers an early learning experience for children age 2 years to 5 years and after–school program from kindergarten to age 12. The center has served this community since 2006 providing the highest quality early education and care for children and families. We cater to the individual needs of each child in our care, including children with various disabilities, and provide an environment that will enhance growth and development during these important years.
Our state licensed facility is staffed by dedicated child care professionals who strive to prepare children cognitively and socially for school.
We utilize the Creative Curriculum in our program through which teachers design an environment that includes learning centers such as blocks, dramatic play, art, library, math and science, sand and water, music and movement, cooking, literacy, and computers. Through active involvement with the environment children learn to understand the world around them, to make choices and to learn through hands on activities. Daily outdoor play is also provided through nature walks and walking trips to the local parks.
Through our partnerships with Head Start and state pre-kindergarten, our programs are designed to meet the needs of the whole child including health, nutrition and social-emotional needs while providing important school-readiness skills. Regular field trips are provided throughout the year to enhance the children's learning. Family involvement is encouraged through home visits, regular parent-teacher conferences, monthly parent meetings, parent workshops and family outings.
