Elgin Child & Family Resource Center

Elgin Child & Family Resource Center has been serving children its community since 1920. In 2004, the center moved into their new home right in the heart of downtown Elgin.

Our center provides a great opportunity for children to grow and learn at their own pace, where they are given a variety of experiences that foster their developmental growth.

Our teachers provide quality care through nurturing interactions and by creating meaningful activities that are taught in a variety forms to accommodate all of the children's' multiple intelligences.

Our center collaborates closely with families by strengthening them with the utilization of community resources to enhance the overall education of the children inside and outside of our center.

  • Award-winning facility
  • 12 spacious, inviting classrooms
  • Three developmentally appropriate playgrounds
  • Bilingual staff
  • Family outings and activities
  • Field trips
  • Supported by the United Way of Elgin and the Grand Victoria Foundation

We have Preschool For All through collaboration of School District U-46 and a QRS Star Rating of 2. We use the Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold for assessing and monitoring developmental growth.

Beyond our inviting classrooms, spacious outdoor playground and nutritious meals/snacks, our center is known for its sense of community.
